REGULATION
INTERNATIONAL OROBIE SKYRAID (56 km- 3800 D +)

ART. 1 GENERAL INFORMATION

The FLY-UP Sport Amateur Sports Association, with the patronage of the municipalities ARDESIO, BRANZI, CARONA, VALBONDIONE and the collaboration of For SkyRunner Associates (FSA) organize the race called INTERNATIONAL OROBIE SKYRAID on Saturday 24 July.

Please note that due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic there may be other precautions in place to comply with local and regional regulations. These will be clarified in advance before the event.

Participation in the competition will assume acceptance of any protocol in force and contempt will result in disqualification. Thank you for your understanding in order to protect the health of all our runners, volunteers and local communities.

ART. 2 EVENT

The race takes place at free speed, in limited time and in semi-autonomy.

10.00 am closing time gate Laghi Gemelli Refuge, km 19 (excluded athletes must return to Valcanale by 1.00 pm where the Shuttle Bus will accompany them to Ardesio / Valbondione)

3.30 pm closing time gate Rifugio Brunone, km 44 (excluded athletes will have to walk down to the village of Fiumenero where the shuttle bus will transport them to Valbondione)

ART. 3 CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

For participation in the event, prior participation in other events is not required, but the acceptance of the time gates located at the Laghi Gemelli Refuge (19 km in 4h) and Brunone Refuge (44 km in 9h30m) is necessary:

  1. be absolutely aware of the length and specificity of the race and be perfectly prepared.

  2. to have acquired, before the race, a real capacity for personal autonomy in the mountains in order to better manage the problems related to this type of test and in particular:

    a. knowing how to face alone, without help, climatic conditions that could become difficult due to the altitude (night, wind, cold, fog, rain or snow);

    b. being able to manage, even if you are isolated, physical or psychological problems due to great fatigue, gastrointestinal problems, muscle or joint pain, small wounds;

    c. be aware that the role of the Organization is not to help a runner manage these problems.

  3. for mountain running, safety depends on the ability of the runner to adapt to the problems encountered or foreseeable.

  4. participation in the event implies the unreserved acceptance of this regulation.

ART. 4 SEMY-AUTONOMY

Semi-autonomy is understood as the ability to be autonomous between two refreshment points, referring to safety, power and equipment, thus allowing you to adapt to problems encountered or foreseeable such as bad weather, physical discomfort, injuries, etc. This principle implies the following rules:

  1. Each runner must carry all mandatory equipment with him for the duration of the race.

  2. This must be presented at the bib distribution and at any time; the race marshals will be able to verify that the competitors have all the mandatory equipment with them. The competitor is obliged to undergo these checks, under penalty of disqualification.

  3. The refreshment points are stocked with drinks and food to be consumed on site.

  4. At the start of each refreshment point, runners must have the amount of water and food necessary to get to the next refreshment point (to reduce the environmental impact there will be no glasses at the refreshment points).

ART. 5 REGISTRATION METHOD

For the INTERNATIONAL OROBIE SKYRAID (56 km - 3800 D +) all athletes who have reached the age of 18 by 23/07/2021 can register, in possession of a medical sports certificate for competitive athletics or competitive sport in the mountain environment mandatory with expiry not earlier than 25/07/2021.

Maximum number of participants: 1000 people.

Registration is personal and definitive, bib numbers and / or name substitutions are not allowed, nor is the change of race.

There is no possibility of unsubscribing and in the event of non-participation, no refund of the sums paid will be made

ART. 6 PARTICIPATION FEES

60.00 euros from 15/02/2021 to 15/03/2021

75.00 euros from 16/03/2021 to the maximum number of 1000 members.

The payment of the registration includes all the services described in this regulation:

Race pack, bib, Pasta Party (in compliance with the COVID-19 emergency health regulations)

Note: in the event that the race cannot be held due to a consequent prohibition on health regulations due to COVID-19, the Organization recognizes a refund of 50% of the registration fee or the right to move the registration to the 2022 Edition

ART 7. BIB COLLECTION AND COMPETITION PACKAGE - COMPULSORY MATERIAL CHECK

Each bib will be delivered individually to each competitor upon presentation of an identification document and, strictly speaking, a copy of a valid competitive medical certificate.

He bib must be worn on the chest or belly and be always and entirely visible in its entirety throughout the race. It must therefore be placed on top of all clothing and in no case fixed on the bag or on a leg (this also to facilitate checks on the course without being stopped).

Sponsors must not be modified or hidden.

It will be possible to collect both the bib and the race pack, subject to mandatory material checks, on Friday, July 23, 2021, in Ardesio, at OROBIE EXPO, in Piazza Monte Grappa, from 2 pm to 10 pm.

In the event that an athlete is found lacking mandatory material, it will be his responsibility to obtain it in order to be able to participate in the race.

ART. 8 EQUIPMENT

Participation in the race requires the use of mandatory material that the competitor must always have with him throughout the course. The material indicated represents a vital minimum that allows you to face the test in safety but which must be integrated according to individual needs.

Checks may be carried out along the entire route, under penalty of disqualification if someone is found without the equipment.

Mandatory Equipment

  • Trail shoes
  • Backpack or pouch
  • Mobile phone enter the Organization's emergency numbers, keep the phone always on, do not mask the number and leave with a charged battery
  • Personal glass of at least 15 cl Water bottles
  • Camel Bag / Bottle with water reserve of at least 1 liter
  • Thermal blanket
  • Whistle
  • Adhesive elastic bandage suitable for bandaging or strapping (minimum 100 cm x 6 cm)
  • Food reserve
  • Waterproof hooded jacket with at least 10,000 water colons to face extreme conditions and intense cold in the mountains
  • Cap or bandana

Recommended Equipment

  • Sticks
  • Spare warm clothing essential in case of bad weather conditions or in case of stops due to injury
  • Gloves
  • Small economic reserve (20 €)

BEFORE THE DEPARTURE, DURING THE RACE, IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ARRIVAL, THE MANDATORY EQUIPMENT MAY BE CHECKED

ART. 9 DEPARTURES AND BRIEFING

Times may change and participants can be notified up to 30 minutes before departure. In case of severe bad weather, with CIVIL PROTECTION Weather alert, the race can be postponed to Sunday 25 July 2021.

Before departure, the mandatory equipment may be checked.

ART. 10 ROUTE

The route mainly develops on high mountain trails difficulty CAI-EE (path for expert hikers). Competitors must strictly respect the race course, marked with signs, tape, flags that will be shown during the briefing. The removal from the official track, in addition to leading to disqualification from the order of arrival, will take place at the sole risk of the competitor.

ART. 11 ENVIROMENT

Competitors must behave respectfully for the environment, in particular avoiding littering, picking flowers or harassing the fauna. Anyone found to abandon waste along the route will be disqualified from the race and will incur penalties provided for by municipal regulations.

ART. 12 WEATHER

In the event of important weather phenomena (heavy storms, snow, fog, etc.) the organization reserves the right to postpone the departure time, make a change in the route even at the last minute, suspend or cancel the event in order to eliminate any dangers or conditions of severe discomfort for the participants. Any changes will be communicated to the participants and reported by the staff.

ART. 13 SAFETY, HEALTH CARE AND CONTROL

Organization staff will be present on the route and various rescue points will be set up along the route connected by radio or telephone with the race direction; at the base of Valbondione and on the route there will be ambulances, health and safety personnel and rescue vehicles.

Any runner injured or in difficulty, can call for help:

  • by going to a rescue station or refreshment points
  • by calling the emergency numbers printed on the bib (except for points without telephone network coverage)
  • asking another runner to notify the rescue

Each runner must provide assistance to all people in difficulty and notify the rescue.

Do not forget that the environmental conditions and the race can make you wait for help longer than expected. Your safety will then depend on the material you put in your backpack.

All competitors must remain on the marked trails. The competitor who voluntarily leaves the marked trails is no longer under the responsibility of the Organization.

Respect yourself: no deceptions, neither before nor during the race.

Respect other athletes: provide assistance to another athlete in difficulty.

Respect the volunteers: the volunteers, who also participate for the pleasure of being there.

ART. 14 CHECK AND REFUELING POINTS

Surprise checkpoints will be set up along the route, where organization staff will monitor the passage of the athletes and can arbitrarily arrange for the verification of mandatory material. The athlete who opposes the control will be immediately disqualified.

The passage of the athletes will also be checked at the individual refueling points. The race is in semi self-sufficiency. However, 6 refreshment points with liquids and solids will be set up.

At the end of the race there will be a refreshment and pasta party (according to anti-Covid regulations).

ART. 15 CHANGES TO THE ROUTE OR TIME GATES - CANCELLATION OF THE RACE

The Organization reserves the right to change the route or location of the rescue and refreshment posts at any time and without notice.

In case of unfavorable weather conditions (heavy rain, high risk of thunderstorms, poor visibility) the departure can be postponed or canceled.

TIMETABLE GATES

GEMELLI LAKES REFUGE, km 19, 4h from the start.

Competitors who arrive at the gate after the time limit must return to Valcanale by 1:00 pm for the shuttle bus and will be brought back to Ardesio.

RIFUGIO BRUNONE, km 44, 9h30m from the start.

Competitors who arrive at the time gate outside the maximum time limit must get off at the town of Fiumenero for the shuttle bus that will take them to Valbondione.

ART. 16 WITHDRAWALS

Except in case of major force, the competitor must abandon the race only at a checkpoint.

He must therefore notify the authorized person, who invalidates the bib.

The runner must keep his canceled bib.

The return is decided with the person in charge of the checkpoint according to the following rules:

  • runners who retire to another rescue or refreshment point, but whose health does not require evacuation, must reach the nearest checkpoint as quickly as possible.

  • doctors, first aid posts, referees, the forces of safety, mountain rescuers along the route are authorized to stop the race for health reasons, by removing the bib.

  • if, while on the way back, the runner meets the broom service, this one invalidates the bib. At this point, the runner is no longer under the control of the Organization.

  • in the event of failure to notify a withdrawal and the consequent start of research, the athlete will be charged for the costs resulting from the research. It is recommended to have individual accident insurance, covering the possible costs for search and evacuation. The insurance must be valid for the entire duration of the event.

  • In any case, a withdrawn athlete must reach Valbondione, through the escape routes recommended by the service staff, in full autonomy and outside the responsibility of the Organization.

There will be a special award ceremony for the FLYING FINISH at Passo Valsecca - Memorial DARIO BALDUZZI.

ART. 18 AWARDS

The awards for all categories will be held on 24 July at 8.00 pm in Valbondione (BG).

ART. 19 COMPLAINTS

Any complaints can be presented to the Race Organization by 8.00 pm on Saturday 24 July 2021 with a deposit of € 50 (non-returnable if the complaint is not accepted). In tune with the trail / mountain running spirit, however, it is hoped for a behavior of complete fairness on the part of the athletes.

ART. 20 ROUTE SIGNALINGS

To respect the environment, removable signs will be used consisting of badges, ribbons, arrows and ecological paint that disappear within a few days.

It is mandatory to follow only the marked trails, without shortcuts to avoid the erosion of the sites and the ground.

ART. 21 RISTOROBIE

A catering service is provided at the end of the competition which will be guaranteed until the arrival of the last competitor. The cost is included in the registration. This paid service will also be open to accompanying persons and family members.

ART. 22 DECLARATION OF LIABILITY

Voluntary registration and consequent participation in the race indicate full acceptance of these regulations and any changes made. By registering, the participants exonerates the organizers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and / or things caused by him or derived from him. It will therefore be the duty of the member to check in the days prior to the event and any changes made to the regulations by the organization published on the website.

ART. 23 IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering, the competitors authorize the organization to use free of charge, without territorial and time limits, still and moving images that portray them during the participation in the competition.

ART. 24 PRIVACY

Information on the processing of personal data

By registering, the athlete accepts the processing of data as indicated below. Pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree. 196/2003 and art. 13 of the European Data Processing Regulation, we inform you that the data collected will be processed in a manner that guarantees security and confidentiality. Your personal data or that of another person provided by you will be processed by Fly-Up Sport for the following purposes:

  1. Participation and management of the event, including all activities related to safety obligations.

  2. Sending news about the events organized by Fly-Up Sport.

  3. Transmission of your personal contact data (eg name, surname, email) to the sponsors or promoters of the event.

Consent for purposes 1 and 2 is mandatory and without it isn't possible to allow participation in the event, consent number 3 is optional.

"I am aware that I can't take legal action against the organizer, sponsors, the municipality, private properties or their representatives in the event of damage or accidents of any kind. I am also aware that by registering for the aforementioned tender I renounce any image and speech rights granted to radio, television, publishing and advertising companies in general.

I declare that I am healthy, that I am adequately prepared, that the data indicated in the registration are accurate and true (Article 2 of Law 04/01/1968 15 as amended by art. 3 paragraph 10 law 15/05/1997 n ° 127) and I agree to wear the bib clearly visible. I do not give my bib to another person.

I also undertake to pack valuables, wallet, mobile phone, tablet, etc. well. so that no damage occurs during the luggage transport. By registering with the International Orobie Skyraid I declare to accept the regulation in its entirety and all the changes published on this site. "
